    Digital Camera Battery Type

    Digital Camera Battery

Batteries are the lifeblood of digital camera. And you will be using lot of them. Digital camera comes with two types of battery rechargeable lithium & rechargeable AA.

Lithium – It has the longest life between charges. Batteries that charges in the camera are handiest, since you don’t need an external charger. But if you are going to be away from source of AC for long periods, you will need to carry extra digital camera batteries.  These types of  camera batteries ( SLB-11A ) are very hard to find and bit expensive. If you use AA batteries then you have more options than Lithium Digital Camera Batteries.

Alkaline – These types of batteries are the most common and least expensive type of standard batteries. However they are not rechargeable, so when there life is over you have to buy new one.

NiCad - NiCad batteries are more expensive than alkalines, but they can be recharged. The disadvantage of NiCads is that they don’t last as long between charges as alkalines do before needing replacement. NiCads can be recharged 50 times or so.

NiMH - NiMH (Nickel metal hydride) last long as alkalines and they are rechargeable. The one drawback with this is their price and they require special type of charger. It can be recharged 100 of times or so.

Another important device which comes with rechargeable batteries is AC Adapter.

Adapter – To recharge the batteries, you plug the camera into an outlet via the AC Adapter and wait a few hours. If your camera uses AA batteries, you may have to buy AC adapter separately.

    Samsung’s New SMX-C14 and SMX-C10

Samsung announced today the release of two new standard definition camcorders: the SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 ( to buy samsung smx-c14 battery / samsung smx-c10 battery ). Both feature the unusual, slanted-edge design seen earlier this year with the high definition HMX-R10. No pricing has been announced, but the C14 and C10 are expected to ship in July 2009.

The Samsung SMX-C14 offers 16GB of internal memory, plus an SD/SDHC card slot. The SMX-C10 has card-only recording. Both record in the H.264 compression at standard definition. Other specs include a 10x optical zoom, a 2.7-inch, 230,000-pixel LCD, and time-lapse recording at 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds.

Like most of the camcorder industry, Samsung is taking a tip from Pure Digital Flip’s playbook and offering software built into the camcorder. When connected to a computer, the software facilitates simple editing and upload to YouTube. There is also a “one-touch” upload button on the body of the camcorder, a feature which has been added by several manufacturers this year, though the process of upload is rarely as simple the single press of a button.

The new SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 are designed with Samsung’s Touch of Color finish, a piano black with touches of blood-red, as seen in a selection of Samsung HDTVs this year. That, combined with the “alien eyed” shape, are sure to make for some of the most unique camcorders of the season.

    Toshia Equium A200 Battery Life

Tips to Extend Your Toshiba Equium A200  Battery Life

1.If the toshiba equium a200 battery will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that it be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place.
2.Short toshiba satellite a200 battery life in a laptop is mainly cause by heat rather than charge / discharge patterns. Always charge a toshiba laptop battery in a well-ventilated area.
3.When charging the battery for toshiba satellite a200 meter calibration, periodically do a full battery (PA3534U-1BAS Battery) discharge, every 30 charges, to increase meter accuracy.
4.Another enemy of laptop battery life is heat. The optimal ambient temperature during charge is 50°F (10°C) to 86°F (30°C). If the ambient temperature rises above 95°F (35°C) the charge efficiency may be significantly reduced, and therefore result in a lower charged battery capacity.
5.Dim your screen – Most laptops come with the ability to dim your laptop screen. Some even come with ways to modify CPU and cooling performance, this will also save on toshiba satellite a200 battery drain.

    Laptop AC Adapter Tips

An Laptop AC adapter allows a laptop computer to be plugged into a standard wall outlet. It converts the “AC” (or “alternating current”) of a wall outlet to “DC” (or “direct current”) so the laptop can draw power safely while charging the battery. Usually, an AC adapter (such as dell ac adapter, hp ac apdater ) is built to last for years, but sometimes it does not last as long as planned. When caring for or replacing a faulty AC adapter, there are a few things to keep in mind in order to maximize its usefulness and compatibility.

    AC Adapter Compatability

  • Not all AC adapters are created equal. Some will have differing input and output voltages which makes choosing the correct one frustrating. If you are replacing a laptop’s adapter, always check its specifications to determine the power requirements. Also, laptop computers have different sized DC plugs, so make sure that the adapter that you buy will fit. Many universal AC adapters come with interchangeable plugs to prevent this problem.
  • Problems That May Arise

  • While it is normal for an AC adapter to get warm to the touch while plugged in, any other signs of trouble may require immediate action. If your adapter is making a high pitch noise, replace it. If your adapter stops working completely, it may be a sign of a bad transformer or a wiring issue. If you fancy yourself an amateur repairman, keep in mind that it is generally a bad idea to open up the AC adapter for any reason. In addition to being notoriously difficult to open (without a hacksaw), the internal components can deliver dangerously high voltage levels to inexperienced repairmen.
  • General Tips

  • An AC adapter’s secondary function is to charge a computer battery. A full charging session takes around two hours or longer if you use the computer during that time. If the battery is completely dead, you may need to leave the adapter plugged in for a few minutes before you turn on the computer.Avoid exposing an AC adapter (dell inspiron 6400 ac adapter, dell inspiron 1501 ac adapter)to prolonged periods of extreme heat or cold. Doing so could damage the internal circuitry and prevent it from working. Always wrap up the AC cord tightly when traveling, and avoid any contact with other metallic devices, like coins, pens or paperclips. These could accidentally short-circuit the adapter by causing an connection of the positive an negative terminals, for example, when bouncing around in a bag.

How to remove or install Apple Macbook Pro memory

    Summary

Learn how to correctly remove or install memory into a MacBook Pro.

Warning:The internal components of your MacBook Pro can be warm. If you have been using your MacBook Pro, wait ten minutes after shutting down the computer to let the internal components cool before continuing.

    Memory specifications:

Your computer has two memory slots that you can access by removing the battery and bottom case. Your MacBook Pro comes with a minimum of 2 gigabytes (GB) of 1066 MHz Double Data Rate (DDR3) Synchronous Dynamic Random-Access Memory (SDRAM) installed. Each memory slot can accept an SDRAM module that meets the following specifications:

    • Double Data Rate Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module (DDR3) format
    • 30mm (1.18 inch)
    • 1 GB or 2 GB
    • 204-pin
    • PC3-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz type RAM

You can add two 2 GB memory modules for a maximum of 4 GB of memory. For best performance, fill both memory slots and install an identical memory module in each slot.

    Removing or Installing memory:

Step 1: Remove the access door

    1. Shut down your MacBook Pro. Disconnect the power adapter, Ethernet cable, security lock, and any other cords connected to the MacBook Pro to prevent damaging the computer.

Step 6: Replace the bottom case

Replace the bottom case. Replace and tighten the eight screws.

    HT1270-17a

    Step 7: Replace the battery

To replace the apple macbook pro 15 battery, make sure the latch is in its open position. Hold the battery at an angle and slide the lipped edge of the battery below the brackets on the outside edge of the apple battery bay. Gently press the battery down.

Step 8: Replace the access door

With the latch in the open position replace the access door, making sure it is level with the bottom case of your MacBook Pro, and press the latch into the closed position.
